Due to numerous interventions and changing owners over the years, the home lost part of its identity and coherence. Zoom Industries utilized a modern design and opened up the rooms, resulting in a spacious ground floor. Frames and shadow joints create a play of vertical and horizontal lines that define the connection between the differently designed elements and provide unity to the general image. Hidden storage compartments and concealed doors are the answer to the client’s request of gaining more storage and privacy in the house. By adding glass panels in the ceiling, a vital connection with the first floor was realized introducing more light and vibrancy. The use of elegant materials like walnut, dark anthracite steel frames, terrazzo, and transparent and translucent glass panels build up the red line that joins the spaces of the house creating a novel, integrated character.
