In this project, we served a client’s wish to transform his corner building by combining two apartments and commercial space into a luxury apartment.
The architectural assignment was to merge those apartments into a coherent whole. The existing layout of both apartments was completely revised. Essential points are represented by the transformation from a cell structure to an open space and to improve the internal routing between floors, using subtle colors and materials.
The apartment consists of a total of five levels: the entrance, basement (study room), two living areas, and bedroom floors. Through the elevator, the floor on the first floor is reached, where the American walnut central element connects and forms the whole space. Color and shape are subtly present. To achieve unity through all levels, almost all parts are custom made: cabinets, doors, door handles, stairs, and parts of the furniture are designed to establish a coherent entity.
