Toilets for de Bijenkorf Amsterdam and Rotterdam, two of three flagship stores. De Bijenkorf, part of the Selfridges Group, is the largest luxury department store in The Netherlands with over 3,000 employees. Today de Bijenkorf is seen as the most inspiring, indulgent, and creative department store in the Dutch market maintaining a dominant position.
The main architectural components for the washrooms are grey tiles in a herringbone pattern combined with oak wood and brass details. The herringbone tile pattern plays a part in the communication as it becomes darker towards the gents’ bathrooms and lighter for the ladies’ bathroom.
The use of curved white walls with solid surfaces countertops combined with mirrors and door handles in brass goes well along with the luxury identity of de Bijenkorf.
